MARLEY JACOBS
DESIGN STUDIO

Always ask "What if ?"

What if fashion could pique your curiosity and give answers all at once ?

How do you take a designers work and personality, and use it to market them ? These are mockups of how my personal visual identity system would be used in reality.

The focus was on how my audience and peers will interact with my

brand through elements such as color and typeface hierarchy. A personal brand is experienced beyond a business card and the mock-ups show different instances in which I want clients to be made aware of my brand identity so that it stays with them. I always start my design process with a “What if?’ question and I wish for my clients to ask the same.

My curiosity is one of my drives and my fearless search for the beauty in everything I see, man-made or natural, gory, or sad leads me in peculiar directions at times. From the calmly chaotic to the beautifully gory, I go wherever the questions and answers take me to solve a problem or create a world of my own. I am ever-changing and so is my style, which is why I chose a simple color scheme.

My style at times can be calculated and rigid and the lines of my logo and the playfulness of my specialty font represent that duality. The leaf represents my affinity for nature, which influences my designs, including my croquis. The star illustrates my wish to contribute positively to this industry and the world through my work. It also stands for my middle name which begins with an “A.” Together these elements create a visual system that gives me multiple ways to market myself and present my work while staying true to my core pillars.
